Located in Souchez, France, Cabaret Rouge British Cemetery stands as a solemn testament to the sacrifices made during World War 1. Nineteen Identified Australian Fromelles soldiers, originally either Prisoners of War or buried by the Germans are commemorated here. The cemetery is named after a small, red-bricked café that stood nearby before the war. The total number of burials is 7,655. Cabaret-Rouge British Cemetery served as one of a small number of ‘open cemeteries’ at which the remains of fallen servicemen newly discovered in the region were buried.
